A golfer uses Sub Rosa, a mobile recovery vehicle, to stay fit on tour
A professional golfer utilizes a custom mobile recovery vehicle named Sub Rosa to maintain physical condition and streamline daily operations while competing on tour.
The specialized vehicle has served as a mobile headquarters for five seasons, providing access to therapy equipment, storage space and living quarters.
Rosa—named because "Sub" is "bus" spelled backward and translates to secret meeting place—combines high-tech recovery tools with dedicated space for prep work. The custom bus allows the athlete to execute daily physical recovery, store spare golf equipment and organize yardage notes without sacrificing basic living necessities.
The vehicle integrates six core wellness modalities into its compact footprint. A dedicated red light bed replaced the original couch area, offering 15- to 20-minute light therapy sessions. The rear section of the vehicle was converted into a wet room featuring a hot plunge, hot tub, cold plunge, steam shower infused with eucalyptus and an infrared sauna. For cardio and tissue therapy, the bus carries a spin bike equipped with a 100-liter fresh oxygen setup used three or four times per year to assist targeted physical recovery.
Daily operations follow a structured 30- to 40-minute recovery regimen. The routine pairs 10 to 20 minutes of heat exposure in the red light bed, steam shower or sauna with an immediate cold plunge. This systematic approach resets physical performance after long days on the golf course that include early arrival, 18 holes of play, practice sessions and hands-on physical therapy.
Beyond recovery equipment, the bus functions as a mobile pro shop and operational headquarters. Lower storage cubbies hold putting gadgets, extra drivers, putters, golf shoes, hats, tee bags and caddie straps. The front cabin retains full kitchen functionality—including a La Marzocco coffee machine, microwave and fridge-freezer—allowing the golfer to prepare coffee, review yardage books, make tactical notes and manage daily nutritional needs on tour.
